Domaine des Notes Bleues - Savagnin Ouillé 2020

Domaine des Notes Bleues is a brand new domaine in the Jura, which is pretty rare in itself. But the level of quality for a new and young domaine it pretty astonishing.

The domaine was founded by Cédric Motte in 2017 with 2018 being its first vintage. Domaine des Notes Bleues is located in Mesnay (Arbois) are currently spans around 4 hectares, divided over multiple parcels.

This is their only Savagnin, from topped up barrels, making it 'ouillé'. Where traditionally all savagnin used to be made oxidative, iconic producers such as Labet and Tissot started making these wines more in the style of Burgundy. This wine follows that style, albeit slightly richer and a very, very small bit of oxidation through the elevage in 300l barrels. A very beautiful wine from a future Jura star.
