Domaine des Notes Bleues - Chardonnay Les Nouvelles 2020
Domaine des Notes Bleues is a brand new domaine in the Jura, which is pretty rare in itself. But the level of quality for a new and young domaine it pretty astonishing.
The domaine was founded by Cédric Motte in 2017 with 2018 being its first vintage. Domaine des Notes Bleues is located in Mesnay (Arbois) are currently spans around 4 hectares, divided over multiple parcels.
This specific vineyard belonged to Stéphane Tissot until 2019, when he decided to sell it off because of the old vine age and the therefore the low yields. Cédric took over and made this delicious, fantastic wine. He too was struggling with the low yields and decided to rip out the vines and replant the vineyard. That makes this wine unique, only made once. It's velvety and the typical Jura richness with the beautiful tension between a very mild reduction and a very mild oxidative note. The wine is an ouillé though, which means the barrel has been topped up. This wine comes highly recommended for lovers of domains like Domaine Tissot or Domaine du Pelican.
