Collection: ASOP Wine School
In early 2025 we started with ASOP Wine School. A natural iteration on the many ASOP Wine Class we have done in the past years. We have had many requests to do more in-depth wine courses and are happy it's now part of our offering.
What does ASOP Wine School mean?
In three nights we will walk you through the world of wine so that you can feel more at ease around the subject, make better buying decisions in the future, or confidently pick a better bottle of wine on a menu. 🍷
Each night we will taste 6-8 wines, and discuss topics such as:
- how is wine made?
- where do what type of wines come from?
- how to taste wine
- what terroir means
- the difference between natural and conventional wine
- grapes and wines per country
The evenings will start at 19:30 and last until 21:30 - 22:00.
We will taste both conventional and natural wines, wines that can teach you something about what we're tasting, so don't be afraid of just funky wines. In total we will taste 16-24 different wines, to help you find grip in tasting and develop your personal preferences.
The final evening will end in a small test, after which you will hopefully be the first to receive an ASOP Wine School Diploma 🎓 The total group size is 10 people, an intimate setting in which you will meet others with a growing interest in wine. This course will be taught by Markus, the founder of ASOP Wines.
It's important to note that we are not part of the official WSET or SDEN curriculum, but have written our own. Partially because we missed the discussion and tasting of natural wine in these education platforms. However, we believe this course compares well to level 2 of both WSET and SDEN. You can start this course without any prior training, that's what we are here for.
We can also recommend this course for people that are starting to work with wine in restaurant or bar positions. Especially if you are working with natural wine, this course will give you information that many of the other wine courses do not discuss. Interested in sending a group of your co-workers for a tasting, you can always e-mail markus@asopwines.com to discuss other times or dates.
