Envinate - Lousas Ribeira Sacra 2022

Wow, what a wine is this Lousas wine by Envínate. Envínate is a project by four friends, who met in wine school, that decided to start a winery together. Nothing special here, except for the fact that these four friends live in completely different parts of Spain, the south-eastern Almansa, the island of Tenerife and here: Galicia's Ribeira Sacra, Spain's ultimate North-West. 

This is such a fantastic wine, with great depth, complexity and finesse. It needs some time in the glass or preferably a decanter to fully show it's full colors (being a 2020), but when it does this wine offers great, great complexity for its price. This is fine wine for lovers of Burgundy, Northern Rhone or obviously Ribeira Sacra itself.

The wine growing here is done by Envínate themselves but also different, often older, growers that sell their grapes to Envínate and which they vinify as seperate parcels. All grape growing is at least organic, preferably regenerative agriculture, made in tune with nature. Vinification is natural: no fining, no filtering, hardly any sulfites and indigenous yeasts only. A great wine.
