25-9 | ASOP Wine Class: Clay from Clay ft. Telfer Carpenter

This is a Wine Class we have been mentally working on for well over a year, and finally it's happening. Sometimes you just need to meet the right people, and in Telfer Carpenter of Clay Coffee we did. We haven't met a more passionate potter than her and luckily she was excited to organise this 'clay from clay' tasting with us.

On to more practical issues, what is this about? During this Wine Class we will talk about the role of clay in (ancient) winemaking. Think of amphoras, Georgian qvevris, Spanish tinajas and what not. You will taste 6-8 wines that were made or aged in a clay vessel, while tasting these from clay vessels that Telfer made especially for tonight. This is about as full circle as a Wine Class will get, don't miss this out!

We will taste 6-8 wines that were aged in clay, both reds, whites and of course orange wines. These will be tasted from especially (hand)made clay vessels from Clay Coffee, along with the story of clay in winemaking. The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of bread and cheeses.

We will start at 19:30 until around ten. A total of 15 tickets will be available.
