Rosalie Curtin - Little Heart 2022

We are proud to exclusively offer you Little Heart, the first wine made in the Mosel valley by Rosalie Curtin. 

Little Heart. This 100% Spätburgunder from the steep slopes of the Mosel demanded attention from day one. Rosa's touch created a denser, darker Pinot Noir with deep complexity, in barrel still some significant tannins and a profound spiciness. The wine aged in neutral oak for over 14 months and an extra 10 months in barrel before its release in October 2024. The time taken to offer the wine in optima forma has worked out beautifully, as this is now a soft spoken, complex wine that offers a different voice from the Mosel.

Ripe red berries on the nose with the richness of the barrel aging hinting only at the presence of oak, with deeper notes of tobacco and dried plum. On the palate three things stand out in a beautiful balance; first the mouth filling texture, ripe and smooth, then the beautiful Mosel acidity that makes this wine both dense and a featherweight at the same time, thirdly is the minierality of the slate that shines through and lightens up the wine. We love this wine profoundly, it's a wine with heart.
